My guess is that the eBay seller is just out to make as many sales as possible before enough complaints come in to shut them down. You can hide a virus in the header data of a JPEG. That being said I was sent the software and installed it but it is not recognized by the app store or anything.
In answer to the poster asking about viruses, the answer is yes, possibly. I realize that that was probably dumb but I cant afford the 199 right now so I was looking for it at a cheaper price. Hope you get your money back and can tuck it away until you have enough to get it from the App Store. Even more reason to post their eBay name so that others might avoid them. By coming here you have somewhat proved you have made an honest mistake and have been conned by a not very nice person. I hope you didn't pay too much for it and perhaps you could post the guys eBay address? If you paid through PayPal you may have some protection. Like pancenter says, the guy probably got the download installer from the hidden App Store download location.
Once software is bought from the app store it is linked to that and only that Apple ID.
